ABOUT US
 
Department of Physics of University college of Engineering Arni was established during the academic year 2009-2010 with all required laboratory facilities. It has been started with an aim of offering Engineering physics courses prescribed for the I and II semester curriculum of undergraduate Engineering programmes of various disciplines. The department has a willingness to provide a platform for the seamless interaction between science, Engineering and Technology. It is also interested to impart training to the students of Engineering by offering practical physics courses to enumerate the concepts relevant to the applied fields of science. The department has been sanctioned with four teaching posts at the levels of Assistant Professor and Associate Professorship for the existing number of courses offered by the institution. A laboratory assistant post has also been filled on regular basis in order to assist the students as well as the faculty members during the laboratory sessions. The faculty members of physics are highly motivated to do research in the frontier areas of science and technology such as Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Molecular crystallography and biological crystallization. Many faculties have been recognized as the Research Supervisors of Anna University of Technology and Anna University Chennai. The department of Physics of UCEA has also planned to offer Post Graduate and Research programmes leading to M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in near future. The mission of the Physics department is to undertake research, development and Consultancy directed to achieve self-sufficiency in Hi-Tech Materials, Devices and Instruments.
