The centre for Student Affairs was established during July 2010 under Anna University of Technology, Taramani, Chennai – 600 113, with an objective to transact the matters relating to the students of all the affiliated Colleges who were admitted from the academic year 2010-2011 onwards.

The centre co-ordinates with the Directorate of Technical Education, Guindy, Chennai – 600 025 and the Controller of Examinations, Anna University of Technology Chennai in creating the nominal roll of students admitted under UG and PG programs in all the self financing Engineering Colleges.

The Centre collects the Registration, Recognition and Administration fees from all the affiliated Colleges as well as the constituent Colleges of Anna University of Technology Chennai, Chennai – 600 113. On receipt of orders of readmission and transfer of students from the Directorate of Technical Education, it provides approval to the concerned Colleges, after verifying the eligibility from the Controller of Examinations. It issues the approval orders for Name change of students as per the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and approval orders given for break of study based on Medical Certificate.  

Provisional Eligibility Certificate is issued to the candidates seeking admission under Non Resident Indians (NRI) category / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) / Foreign Nationals (FN), who are studying in affiliated Colleges. At present 163 Colleges are affiliated to Anna University of Technology Chennai in addition to 4 University Colleges of (University College of Engineering Tindivanam, University College of Engineering Villupuram, University College of Engineering Arni and University College of Engineering Kanchipuram).
