ABOUT US

The Centre for Research is established in this University in order to promote basic and applied research in the field of science and engineering among the students and faculty members. The Centre offers Ph.D. Programmes in different branches of Engineering, Technology, Science and Humanities. The scholars are admitted to Ph.D. Programmes twice a year (January and July). The Centre is functioning at CPT campus, Tharamani, Chennai – 113 since June 2010 after the enactment of Anna University of Technology Chennai Act 2010.

The Centre is involved in granting research centre recognition for eligible departments of affiliated engineering colleges, research and industrial units.

The Centre is involved in granting supervisor recognition for Ph.D. guideship to the faculty members / Research personnel working in the university departments/ constituent colleges/ affiliated colleges and industries /institutions recognized by Anna University of Technology Chennai, who fulfil the eligibility criteria.

The prime objective of the centre is to promote and to encourage the aspiring students and faculty members to carry out research in the field of science, engineering and technology by providing necessary facility and infrastructure required for them.

The Centre for Research is headed by the Director. Presently Prof. M. Alagar is the Director.
