ABOUT US
The Centre for Academic Courses is an autonomous Centre of
Anna University of Technology Chennai.
(a) The primary functions of the Centre are :
(i) Framing the Regulations, (ii) Curriculum and the Syllabus for various Under-Graduate & Post-Graduate programmes (Full-Time, Part-Time & Part-Time Day-Time) of University Departments, Government College, Affiliated Institutions and University Colleges of Engineering under the jurisdiction encompassing Chennai, Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Thiruvanamalai and Villupuram districts of Tamilnadu.
(b) The Centre is also responsible for all the academic activities, such as :
* Printing of Books for Regulations, Curriculum and Syllabus, Students Attendance Books etc.
* Academic Schedules and Assessment Periods for ODD and EVEN Semesters
* Industrial Visit for the students of the University Departments
* Issue of Course Equivalency / Eligibility Certificate
* Certificate for the Medium of Instruction for both University Departments and Affiliated Institutions etc.
* Attestation of the Curriculum and Syllabus
* Permission for Phasing of Project for students not earning the required credits
* Discontinuing the Programme
* Withdrawal of subjects from the examinations
* Prevention of students from the End Semester Examinations for lack of Attendance
* Rejoining the Course
* Break of Study
(c) Academic activities
The Academic Activities of the Centre are regulated by the Academic Council whose members are nominated by His Excellency the Governor of Tamilnadu and the Chancellor of the University. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chairman of the Council and the Registrar is the Member Secretary. The members of the Academic Council are from Academic field and various Industries. This committee is one of the higher bodies of the University.

(d) Administrative activities
The Administrative activities of the Centre are monitored and regulated by an Executive Council whose members are nominated by the University. The Vice-Chancellor, Anna University of Technology Chennai is the Chairman of the Executive Council and the Director, Centre for Academic Courses & Student Affairs is the Member Secretary. The Centre is headed by a Director.
