ABOUT US

The Centre for Affiliation is established in June 2010 and is functioning as an autonomous Centre of Anna University of Technology Chennai after the enactment of the Anna University of Technology Act 2010. The primary function of the Centre is granting affiliation to all the colleges/ institutions offering courses of study in Engineering, Technology and allied sciences and falling within the University area comprising the districts of Chennai, Kancheepuram, Thriuvallur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai and Villupuram in the state of Tamil Nadu. At present, about 167 Engineering Colleges / Institutions are affiliated to the University.

The administrative functions of Centre are monitored and guided by an executive committee under the chairmanship of the Vice - Chancellor. The affiliation related matters are scrutinized and recommended by Standing committee on affiliation. The Standing Committee on affiliation is functioning under the Chairmanship of Commissioner of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The basic objective of the Centre is to provide necessary guidelines and suggestions to engineering colleges/institutions affiliated to the University with regard to qualified faculty and infrastructure to enable them to attain academic excellence and to produce employable graduate engineers to meet the national and international needs.

The Centre for Affiliation is headed by the Director. Presently Prof. M. Alagar is the Director.
